The man behind the blog.

Once upon a time, not so long ago, a force to be reckoned with was born. He would be a member of a movement called the Generation Y’ers. Yes,he is a proud member of that movement because its members are innovative, bold, bright and open-minded. He is not an exception either!  I subscribe to all type of social media and gadgets. Innovation, like water, matters very much to me, hence I love Apple and its beauty inventions like the new IPad.

You probably new or returning on this blog,  And you wonder what is this man doing in this space. Nothing much, realy! You landed on the right spot if you are interested in business affairs (e.g The biggest IPO’s in recent times), Leadership (Why Mark Zuckerberg matters in the digital age), Economics (all about the inflation rate and its impact thereof), Politics (Not the ANC type, and not gutter politics either), social media and other stuff that are thought-provoking. I have just summarized the purpose of  this blog. Now you know……come back and tell your friends about it.

On an individual level, I hold a believe that encourages the persuasion of truth, honesty, critical inquiry and redress. It is through brutal honesty and verbal nakedness that we will be able to address issues that portrays an elephant in the room. That is at least my view on how we should express ideas and communicate thoughts.

What am I busy with? Very interesting question indeed. On the very Southern tip of this world there is this province called Western Cape, very beautiful, very clean and very well governed (at least I’d like to believe). I live there, oh to be precise that is where my train of thought is being sharpened for a future career in Auditing (I am all about objective assurance). I am reading towards a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Financial Accounting with a highly reputable institution, the University of Stellenbosch and am in my final year of study.

Working with people and trying to bring about change in a society I reside in is paramount to me. I have seen myself working in various community based organisations, that includes project that focuses on education, financial literacy and human-trafficking. I view education as a weapon for mass-destruction with which we can use to fight Poverty, HIV/AIDS. Malaria, Gender inequality and economic inequality.

Horace Walpole said it  best when he said “The whole secret of life is to be interested in one thing profoundly and in a thousand things well.” So am interested in business, entrepreneurship, blah, blah blah (talking), reading and staring on that small thing called the computer. I draw my inspiration from people who changed the world in one way or another, the likes of Phuthuma Nhleko, Patrice Motsepe, Adrian Gore, Warren Buffet, Nelson Mandela, Clem Sunter and significant other people.

I would really love to tell you about my achievements and awards, but I stopped doing upon realisation that one can really buy trophies and print certificates. Ask, I will tell.

As a point of emphasis, I view education as life, and life education!!!

SA needs more young people like you for us to grow academically, industrial-wise and economically. Keep up your enthusiasm and may it rub off upon the many lost young people still trying to find their way.

Really like the blog, Dumisani. In fact I am going to share it on Twitter. It’s really refreshing to be a fellow South African and see the honest passion you have for things here in our amazing country and beyond . From a kindred spirit, Craig .
